Our goal is simple: we want to make disciples and graduate ministers.
At the core, everything we do with First Burleson Students begins with loving God and loving others. Out of our love for God and others flows the overwhelming conviction to develop young disciples of Jesus who are not only ready to take on life after high school but do so in ways that multiply and expand the Kingdom of God here on earth.
We are a Student-Led, Adult Guided Student Ministry. Students are not the church of the future, they are the church of today! That means taking seriously the call to equip students and enlist them into ministry in every aspect of our ministry.
It’s hard sometimes to know when you’re winning with teenagers. That’s why we decided to go ahead and define the big win for our ministry. This is how we make disciples and graduate ministers on a week-to-week basis.
WE WIN WHEN A TEENAGER TAKES THEIR NEXT STEP IN L.I.F.E.

LIFE is how we measure spiritual growth and our relationship with God. What, exactly, does it look like for a teenager to take a step in LIFE? When we take a step in LIFE, we take a step closer to God. Each letter of LIFE represents an area of our lives that can grow closer to God. We call these four things our core LIFE principles.
TAKING A STEP
Now, we say “takes a step” for a reason. It’s because there’s no finish line or certificate of completion when it comes to spiritual growth. Instead, spiritual growth is a journey (a life-long journey) and no two journeys are identical. We win anytime we see a teenager take their next step closer to LIFE.
SUNDAYS AT FIRST BURLESON
Our students have the opportunity to be a part of the body of Christ by serving on Sunday mornings across many areas of ministry. For students who are new, or may not be ready to serve, we have classes that they may choose to attend.
At 9:00 students have the option to worship or serve. We have both Modern and Traditional services during this hour, at either end of the building.
At 10:30 students have the option to worship, serve, or attend a class. We love seeing our students serving and highly encourage all students to plug in as much as possible. Students who do not want to serve are able to attend one of our classes — we have an option for both high school and middle school students.
WEDNESDAYS AT 6:30PM
Our students meet every Wednesday for worship, fellowship, and to study Scripture together in Worship East. LIFE groups will conclude our time together each Wednesday evening.
Events
Throughout the year, we’ll host several big events designed to help teenagers connect with their peers and LIFE group leaders. Events are often the environment where teenagers will walk into our ministry for the very first time.
